NEW! VCE (Virginia Cooperative Extension) Food Preservation Workshop

Enjoy the taste of summer all year long by learning how to safely preserve homemade jam! This hands-on workshop will teach participants how to prepare and process a delicious seasonal jam using the water bath canning method. The featured fruit will vary based on seasonal availability and may include strawberries, grapes, or other locally available fruit.
Participants will learn:
Safe water bath canning techniques
How to use tested jam recipes
Proper equipment and processing procedures
Tips for selecting and preparing seasonal fruit
Safe storage and shelf-life recommendations
Participants will leave with a jar of homemade jam, research-based Virginia Cooperative Extension resources, and the knowledge and confidence to safely make jam at home.
Handouts, canning supplies, jars, and ingredients are all included with your materials fee.
Space is limited to 8 participants, so register early to reserve your spot!
